Inland, the damage comes from freeze-thaw. Water gets into a seam, freezes, expands and opens the joint a little further, night after night through the winter. The centre of Westborough sits about 304 feet above sea level, 581 feet lower than our shop. Westborough, 34 miles from salt water, is in that group.

The Census counts 8,342 homes in Westborough. The typical one was built in 1976, which makes Westborough's housing the 77th oldest of the 109 towns we serve; 26% went up before 1960 and 57% before 1980. 62% are lived in by their owners, and 50% are single-family houses. A stock this mixed means no two quotes start the same way: an older house may be hiding asbestos-cement shingles or lead paint under its current siding, while a newer one is usually down to its original builder-grade materials.

Around Westborough, Ashland sits closest to the coast at 26 miles and Millbury farthest at 42; Millbury is the nearest of them to our shop (11 mi) and Ashland the farthest (27 mi).
