Siding Contractor in Dedham, MA

Dedham (02026) is in Norfolk County, about 42 miles east of our Charlton shop, a run our crews make regularly. It is the 79th closest of the 109 towns we serve, and 13 miles from the coast. The towns next to it are Norwood (4 mi), Needham (5 mi), Milton (5 mi), Canton (6 mi), Dover (6 mi). From the shop it is 52 road miles to the centre of Dedham, about 70 minutes without traffic, mostly on I-90, I-95 and Route 20.

Towns a few miles in from the coast get the worst of both: salt carried on an onshore wind and a full freeze-thaw winter, which keeps opening the seams the salt is working on. The centre of Dedham sits about 108 feet above sea level, 777 feet lower than our shop. Dedham, 13 miles from the water, is in that group.

The Census counts 10,828 homes in Dedham. The typical one was built in 1956, which makes Dedham's housing the 19th oldest of the 109 towns we serve; 58% went up before 1960 and 76% before 1980. 73% are lived in by their owners, and 65% are single-family houses. With most of the housing built before 1980, many of these walls are on their second or third exterior, and lead-safe work practices matter: federal EPA rules apply to disturbing paint on homes built before 1978.

Around Dedham, Milton sits closest to the coast at 7 miles and Medfield farthest at 20; Medfield is the nearest of them to our shop (34 mi) and Milton the farthest (47 mi). Newton is across the line in Middlesex County. Brookline has the oldest housing of them (typical 1938) and Canton the newest (1980).
