Siding Contractor in Acton, MA

Acton (01720) is in Middlesex County, about 37 miles northeast of our Charlton shop, a run our crews make regularly. It is the 63rd closest of the 109 towns we serve, and 26 miles from the coast. The towns next to it are Maynard (4 mi), Boxborough (4 mi), Littleton (5 mi), Concord (5 mi), Stow (5 mi). From the shop it is 47 road miles to the centre of Acton, about 65 minutes without traffic, mostly on I-290, I-495 and Route 20.

Inland, the damage comes from freeze-thaw. Water gets into a seam, freezes, expands and opens the joint a little further, night after night through the winter. The centre of Acton sits about 267 feet above sea level, 618 feet lower than our shop. Acton, 26 miles from salt water, is in that group.

The Census counts 9,575 homes in Acton. The typical one was built in 1974, which makes Acton's housing the 73rd oldest of the 109 towns we serve; 23% went up before 1960 and 61% before 1980. 75% are lived in by their owners, and 63% are single-family houses. A stock this mixed means no two quotes start the same way: an older house may be hiding asbestos-cement shingles or lead paint under its current siding, while a newer one is usually down to its original builder-grade materials.

Around Acton, Lincoln sits closest to the coast at 19 miles and Harvard farthest at 34; Stow is the nearest of them to our shop (32 mi) and Carlisle the farthest (42 mi). Harvard is across the line in Worcester County. Maynard has the oldest housing of them (typical 1963) and Boxborough the newest (1989).
