About this project
The old siding on this Manchester two-family had been patched so many times it read as a colour chart — replacement courses in three different shades, and green weather staining running the full height of the walls where the wind drove the rain.
It came off and went back on as grey vinyl, corner to corner, with white trim around every window and a contrasting shingle profile in the gables and dormers.
The porch columns and brick piers stayed as they were. On a house with this much character, the job is knowing what to leave alone.
