About this project

One house, four elevations and a window that no catalogue trim would fit. The Woburn ranch got new clapboard-profile vinyl siding throughout, plus replacement windows.

The rear addition carries a Palladian arch window. Curved PVC trim for an opening like that is not something you order — the radius has to match the window that is actually installed. We templated it on site, cut and assembled the arch in the driveway, and fitted it before the siding went on.

Trim first, then the siding cut into it — the order that stops water finding its way behind the opening.
